We first entered the Korean market in 2016, where we met Anderson—and that marked the start of our first year of collaboration. By 2017, we custom the design of church chairs for him. After numerous rounds of revisions and refinements, we finally developed a church chair model that went on to gain widespread popularity in Korea for 8 years.
Regrettably, we failed to secure outlook patent protection (appearance patent protection) for this product in Korea. This oversight led to a rapid surge in imitations, with many local factories copying the design and putting out similar chairs. Faced with this situation, we felt powerless to stop the infringement, watching our original creation lose its unique edge in the market.
Determined to turn the tide, our two companies starting a new design journey in 2024. We invested immense effort into adjustments and modifications: we upgraded both the materials—opting for more durable, high-quality options—and the appearance, incorporating distinctive details that set it apart from generic designs. Our goal was clear: to create a product that copycat factories would find impossible to surpass, reclaiming our competitive advantage through innovation.
Most recently, we renewed our cooperation agreement with a new 10-year term. With this strengthened partnership and our commitment to original, high-performance church chairs, we are confident that our company will continue to hold the number-one market share in the Korean educational furniture sector for years to come.
